We built the Sleep Age Calculator because most sleep tools either oversimplify (a single 'sleep score') or overwhelm (300 pages of biometrics). We wanted something honest, fast, and grounded in research — that you can finish in a minute.

Privacy by default

Your answers never leave your device. The calculator runs entirely in your browser. No accounts, no trackers in the assessment flow.

Every weight in the model is grounded in peer-reviewed sleep research. We cite our sources and show our work on the methodology page.

Mission

Make the invisible measurable.

Sleep is one of the most underrated levers in human health. Decades of research show that the quality, duration, and consistency of your sleep is associated with measurable changes in cognitive performance, metabolic health, mood, and long-term disease risk. And yet most people have no clear, honest sense of what theirs is doing to them.

Our job is small and specific: give you a single, honest number — and the few habits that move it.

How this site is built

Transparent by default.

  • The full scoring methodology — every factor, every weight, every cited study — is on the methodology page. If a number on the result page surprises you, you can trace exactly how it was produced.
  • All calculations run client-side in your browser. We don't log answers, we don't require accounts, and we don't sell data.
  • Sources for every statistic on Sleep Statistics 2026 link to primary research (CDC, NHLBI, BLS, RAND, peer-reviewed journals) — not to other content sites.
  • Pages flag a last reviewed date and are revisited when new evidence merits it.

Authorship & accountability.

Sleep Age Calculator is published and maintained by Sleep Age Editorial, sleep researcher. The scoring model and content covering clinical conditions are reviewed by an external sleep medicine professional before publication and at least once per year thereafter.
