    Stick to one direction of rotation

    If your shifts rotate, request forward rotation (day β†’ evening β†’ night). The circadian system tolerates phase delays roughly twice as well as phase advances.

    Build a daytime sleep cave

    Blackout curtains, white noise, phones on Do Not Disturb, household communication that you are unreachable. Day sleep that meets night-sleep quality requires the same darkness and silence.

  3. Strategy 3

    Eat with your active hours, not the clock

    Light meals during the shift, larger meals when you wake. Eating during the body's biological night worsens insulin response.
